For your first class, simply wear comfortable athletic clothing that allows for movement - like a t-shirt and athletic pants or shorts. We train barefoot, so no special shoes are needed. Once you decide to continue, we'll help you get fitted for a proper martial arts uniform.
We recommend attending classes 2-3 times per week for optimal progress and skill development. This frequency allows you to build muscle memory, improve technique, and develop the discipline that is core to martial arts training. However, we offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your lifestyle.

Kids Programs (Ages 3-12)

Not at all! Age 3 is a perfect time to start. Our program is specifically designed for young children and focuses on basic motor skills, following simple instructions, and fun activities. We understand that 3-6 year olds have shorter attention spans and learn differently, so our classes are age-appropriate and engaging.
Classes for ages 3-6 are typically 30 minutes long, which is perfect for young children's attention spans. We keep activities moving and engaging, with frequent changes to maintain interest and energy. This shorter format helps prevent fatigue and keeps the experience positive and fun.
Absolutely! Our instructors emphasize proper technique, control, and safety in all classes. Children learn discipline, respect, and self-control alongside physical techniques. Our controlled environment focuses on character development and skill building rather than aggressive contact.
Absolutely! We encourage parent observation, especially for our youngest students. Many parents find it reassuring to watch, and it can help children feel more comfortable initially. We also find that parents enjoy seeing their child's progress and can reinforce learning at home.
Young children will learn basic motor skills like balance and coordination, following simple instructions, taking turns, and basic respect for teachers and classmates. We introduce very simple martial arts movements through games and fun activities. The focus is on building confidence, social skills, and a positive foundation for future learning.
Our instructors are specially trained to work with young children and understand that some days are harder than others. We use positive encouragement, never force participation, and have strategies to help children feel comfortable. If a child needs a break or parent comfort, that's perfectly normal and okay.

Classes & Scheduling

We offer classes throughout the week at various times to accommodate different schedules. Classes are available in the late afternoon and evening on weekdays, with additional morning and afternoon options on Saturdays. Contact us for the current schedule specific to your age group and program interest.
Class length varies by age group. Our youngest students (ages 3-6) have 30-minute classes. Kids ages 7-12 typically have 45-minute to 1-hour classes. Teen and adult classes are usually 1 hour long. This ensures each age group gets the optimal training time for their attention span and physical capabilities.
We understand that life happens! If you miss a scheduled class, we offer make-up class options. Simply contact us to arrange an alternative time that fits your schedule. We want to ensure you get the full value of your membership and continue progressing in your training.
You can start at any time! We don't require you to wait for a new session or semester. Our instructors are skilled at integrating new students seamlessly and will help you catch up on any fundamentals you need. The best time to start is when you're ready!

Belt Progression & Testing

The journey to black belt typically takes 3-5 years with consistent training and dedication. However, this varies based on individual effort, attendance, natural ability, and age. For children, the process may take longer as they develop physically and mentally. Remember, the journey is just as important as the destination!
Belt testing is held every 2-3 months, depending on the rank. Students must meet specific requirements and demonstrate proficiency in required techniques, forms, and skills. Your instructor will let you know when you're ready to test and what you need to prepare.
Our instructors only invite students to test when they believe they're ready. However, if a student doesn't pass, it's a learning opportunity. We provide feedback on areas to improve and offer additional support. Students can retest at the next testing opportunity after addressing the areas that need work.

Pricing & Membership

We offer various membership options to fit different budgets and training goals. Pricing varies based on the program, frequency of training, and membership length. We encourage you to contact us or visit for a tour to discuss the options that best fit your family's needs and budget.
We offer both month-to-month and longer-term membership options. While longer commitments often come with better rates, we understand that flexibility is important. We'll work with you to find a membership structure that works for your situation.
The main additional costs include your uniform (dobok), belt testing fees, and optional equipment like sparring gear if you progress to that level. We're transparent about all costs upfront so there are no surprises. Many families find that our programs are an excellent value for the quality of instruction and benefits received.
